This visual captures the moment a monkey, trapped in floods, being rescued via a long rope in western India.

The incident took place near Viniyad village in Sinor town at Vadodara district in Gujarat state.

The primate is seen walking through a nearly 70-feet-long rope tied to two fig trees on opposite sides. The monkey then joins two other anthropoids who were also rescued by locals and forest officials in a similar manner.

According to reports, many areas in Vadodara were heavily inundated after incessant rains lashed many parts of the state last month.

The monkeys, one male and three females, were trapped inside a fig tree for five days near a river in Viniyad village. The overflowing water in the river made it difficult for the monkeys to come outside.

Locals spotted the monkeys trapped inside and alerted the forest officials regarding the same.

Rescue officials reached the spot via boats and rescued the primates by tying ropes and lowering down ladders.

The monkeys were then anchored to safety.
