In a shocking incident, a woman prevented her US-returned husband from entering the house stating coronavirus as a reason in southern India's Kerala.

The incident took place in Punalur of Kollam district on August 17.

The video shows the man standing outside the gate with a heap of luggage lying next to him.

The victim identified as Bhaskaran hails from Madurai.

He requests his wife to open the gate, however, she refrains from doing so.

The video later shows Bhaskaran breaking down stating that he had a long journey overnight and was hungry.

Several people in the locality tried to convince the wife to let her husband inside.

According to the reports, the husband had just returned from the United States and since the country recorded a significant number of coronavirus cases, his wife decided not to let him inside.

The husband stood outside the gate for over hours begging his wife to open the gate

After a tedious exhortation, the wife did not allow Bhaskaran to enter the house.

Following this, the neighbours broke open the gate and helped Bhaskaran to fetch his car inside the housing complex to travel to his hometown.
