Snake rescued after stowing away on fuel truck in central India
An Indian rat snake has been rescued from a tank truck carrying petrol along a national highway in central India.
The incident took place on August 20 in Dewada, Chhattisgarh state.
The truck was headed to Raipur in Chhattisgarh from Nagpur in Maharashtra when the driver felt something brush against his foot. Realizing the danger, he immediately came to halt on the side of the highway.
The driver then informed Nova Nature Welfare Society who rushed to the spot to rescue the reptile.
Visuals show rescuer Ajay Chaudhary extracting the snake from beneath the co-passenger seat before it wraps itself around his leg. The snake then proceeds to pass through a gap near the door and even attempts to enter the engine.
Chaudhary then successfully extricated the reptile, which was later released into the wild.
