A greedy python ate a goose before getting stuck in a fence because of its fat belly.

Shocked locals noticed the two-metre-long reptile wedged between the concrete pillars of a fence in Phetchabun, Thailand.

The animal rescuers arrived and discovered that the snake had an undigested goose in its stomach, making it too big to pass through the gap.

It ate the goose from one of the villager's coop and tried to escape until it was found stuck on the fence.

The farmyard owner, Sommai, said the goose had been taken from her coup. Several others had also disappeared in recent weeks, which he blamed on the python.

He said: "I think the python has been eating them. It sneaks inside and escapes on the fence to the field, but this time it was caught because it has taken too many. It's too greedy and fat.''

The rescuers tapped the snake's belly to force the predator to spit out its last meal, which it regurgitated after almost half an hour.

The goose could be seen slowly emerging from the snake's mouth with all its feathers still intact. The python was put on a sack and taken by the rescuers to be released in the wild later.
