Dozens of teenagers leapt into a swollen muddy river after heavy rain caused floods in Pahang, Malaysia, on Sunday afternoon (Jan 3).

Footage from the town of Banji shows the youngsters performing their playful synchronised leap into the stretch of water, which is normally just a shallow trickle.

In the capital Kuala Lumpur, roads were flooded and thousands of residents were evacuated.

Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) director Datuk Azisman Alias urged the public and road users to stay safe.
