Pair of Indian male bison rescued after 9-hour long rescue operation in southern India

Two Indian male bison that fell into a deep pit were rescued in southern India's Tamil Nadu after a 9-hour-long rescue operation on December 30, 2020. The incident took place in the Attur range of Salem district.

Visuals features two bisons in the middle of a puddle inside a deep pit. The rescue personnel gather around the spot to save the cattle with the help of an excavator. The rescue team digs the place, and a crew goes inside the pit in a trolley and pulls them up. Meanwhile, the rest of the squad gathers on the surface to guide through the operation.

Both the wild animals were rescued after a 9-hour long joint operation. The cattle fell into the pit in the morning, and a team dug up the place and devised a plan to move them out carefully.

The rescue personnel included Chief Conservator of Forest, A.Periyasamy, Indian Forest Service and Divisional Forest Officer, Dr.Murugan, Assistant Conservator of Forest, Yogesh Kumar Meena, and Forest Range Officers, N.Venkatesan, R.Senthilkumar, Gnaraj, Duraimurugan, Anbalagan, along with a Fire rescue team and Electricity Board department team.
