Forest officials rescued a giant black spectacled cobra, also known as an Indian cobra, from northern India's Uttarakhand on January 31. The incident took place in a residential setting in the Clement Town region of Dehradun.

A video shows the forest department personnel rescuing the snake. An expert grabs the reptile by its tail and carries it out of the house with the help of a hooked pole. The snake wiggles its body and shows signs of agitation.

The official pins the cobra down to the ground and calms it down. Then, he puts it in a black bag and carries it to safety.

A rescue team of forest officials, headed by Ravi Joshi, immediately rushed to the spot on being alerted. They rescued the 5-feet-long Indian cobra and released it into the wild. They suspect that the snake strayed onto the residential premises to seek the sun's warmth.
