Group of labourers extract rare pair of diamonds while mining in central India
About five labourers found a pair of large diamonds while digging in a mine in central India's Madhya Pradesh on February 22.
The incident took place in Kitha village in the Panna district. Video shows the workers depositing the diamond they found in the district office.
A labourer, identified as Bhagwandas Kushwaha, and his four partners found a 7.94-carat and another 1.93-carat diamond while digging in a mine in their village. They were stunned by finding the precious stones and were relieved that they can soon solve their financial problems.
The 7.94-carat diamond has been the largest discovered this year and the experts believe that these two stones will fetch up to USD $48,334, and both are planned to be auctioned by March.
