Members of the African National Congress (ANC), South Africa's ruling party, held an anti-racism protest outside the offices of broadcaster eNCA on Tuesday (March 2)

The protest came after eNCA reporter Lindsay Dentlinger did interviews at parliament in which she asked black politicians to mask up, while allowing white politicians to do their interviews without masks.

In terms of South Africa's COVID-19 disaster management regulations, all people have to wear masks when out in public.

Lindsay Dentlinger was conducting post-budget speech interviews when she first interviewed John Steenhuisen of the Democratic Alliance and Pieter Groenewald of the Freedom Front Plus. When she then interviewed the deputy president of the United Democratic Movement Nqabayomzi Kwanka, she asked him to wear his mask.

This incident was broadcast live on the eNCA channel and then created an uproar on social media with hashtags #LindsayDentlinger and #LindsayDentlingerMustFall.
