Police officers on Tuesday (June 1) seized marijuana worth more than 400,000 US dollars from a truck in central India.

Acting on a tip, police stopped the truck in Morena in the state of Madhya Pradesh and found dozens of white sacks filled with cannabis.

The accused admitted they were smuggling the weed from Odisha to Rajasthan, according to local media.

The police seized marijuana worth Rs 2.95 crore (USD 4,02,936) in central India's Madhya Pradesh on May June 1. The incident took place in Morena.

Visuals feature the truck that was smuggling the marijuana. Later, the police officials retrieve several white sacks filled with cannabis and stack them together. The officials also conduct a conference to reveal the details of the case.

The police received a tip regarding the smuggling of marijuana on May 31, following which they raided the truck on Tuesday and detained two people. The officials retrieved the cannabis weighing 1,355 kg (2,987 lbs) worth Rs Rs 2.95 crore (USD 4,02,936) hidden under stationary items.

Upon interrogation, the two accused revealed that they operate in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh. Moreover, they were smuggling the marijuana from Odisha and were on their way to Rajasthan when the incident unfolded.
