Amid the Covid-19 pandemic, there has been a sharp spike in smuggling cases in southern India's Telangana on June 19. The incident took place at the Aswaraopeta check post in the Bhadradri Kothagudem district.

Visuals feature the officials recovering and seizing several wrapped cases loaded with cannabis in broad daylight from a pick-up vehicle. Following this, they apprehend the smugglers and weigh all the packages to keep a check on all the illicit items on the roadside.

During one inspection, the cops stopped a Bolero heading towards Telangana from Andhra Pradesh and recovered 650 kg of marijuana (1,433 lbs) worth Rs. 20 lakh (USD 26,934) from it. They further apprehended three miscreants regarding this matter while an investigation is underway.
