Locals embark on digging spree in central India
Locals have been on a digging spree to discover round shining stones and sell them in the local market in central India's Madhya Pradesh on August 20. The incident took place in Boriya village in the Damoh district.
Visuals feature hundreds of locals digging on government-administered land in a bid to find the stones. The stones, which are small and shiny in nature, are being discovered after a foot of digging and people seem extremely excited and happy at the prospect of finding and selling them.
Reportedly, a tribal boy was doing some digging work on government-administered land when he found such a stone. Instantly, the word spread and people from adjoining districts began coming to find such stones themselves.
These stones are being sold for thousands of rupees and even though the Taradehi police officials tried to stop them, they somehow sneaked in to dig and found such stones. People have been going to the extent of sitting with packed food since early morning to embark on digging as soon as the sun rises. Currently, senior officials have refused to comment on the matter.
