A bear that had become stuck in a tall tree was rescued and released by officials in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.

The animal had climbed the tree in search of honeycomb but was unable to navigate back down to the ground.

Officials released that the bear's forelegs had become stuck amongst the tree's branches.

They cut down the tree and tranquillized the bear before sending it to hospital for treatment.

Once the 3-year-old animal was deemed fit it was then released back into the wild.

A bear climbed a tree in a tea estate in search of honey comb but it didn't climb down for hours and started to growl. The tea estate employees noticed that and informed the forest officials. They rushed the spot with a vet team. They relaised that the bear s fore legs got struck in a tree branch and it can't able to get it out. A couple of bears were also wandering around that estate and hence the rescue became more difficult.

Then those bears were chased away and the tree was cut down. The bear just landed on the tea plants the plants are flexible hence the bear doesn't sustain any injuries.


The bear was then tranquilized and it was caught in a cage and sent to a vet hospital for the treatment of its fore legs.

Then the bear was treated and released into the deep woods later.

The rescue operation took nearly eight hours. The bear was three years old and its a male said the forest department staffs.
