This is the moment strong winds battered a field hospital wall during a storm in Thailand.

A severe downpour battered the facility being used as a waiting station for Covid-19 patients in Satun province on February 20. CCTV footage shows how the gales almost swept away a partition made of wooden boards.

No injuries were reported since the area was vacant at the time. Authorities are now surveying the building to estimate the extent of the damage and repair costs.

The storm reportedly destroyed some 30 houses and knocked down power to two villages. Officers from the Khuan Kalong Subdistrict Administrative Organisation (SAO) were deployed to clear the roads and assist affected locals.

Nattapong Suwanna, chief of the Khuan Kalong SAO, said: 'Some houses had their roofs torn off. Rubber trees in plantations were flattened and fell onto the roads, while the waiting centre lost chairs, tables and signages.'

The SAO team is now coordinating with the local electric company to restore power in the area.
