Astonishing footage shows fresh cannabis being sold from a food truck at the tourist sport Khaoson Road in Bangkok, Thailand.

The surreal scene came after ministers decriminalized marijuana - sparking hundreds of stalls and shops to spring up around the country openly selling the drug.

At the Happy Buds stall seen in the video, owner 'Louis' has converted a truck normally used for selling burgers and fries into a late-night cannabis dispensary.

He sells several strains of the plant, which tourists are able to buy and smoke outside one of the many bars along the bustling road.

They start at 700 Baht (16.25 GBP) per gram and include names such as Bangkok Night Nurse, Mango, Wild Thai, Sour Diesel and Tomyum.

Under the change in legislature, which came into effect last week, anyone can by marijuana products and take them home to smoke. Growing cannabis plants at home and selling the drug is also allowed.

Ministers hope the move will boost the country's economy through marijuana's links to agriculture, medicine and tourism.

However, since marijuana's decriminalisation, four people have been admitted to hospital after using the drug. A fifty-one-year-old man later died of heart failure as he suffered chest pain after consumption.

Opponents to the move claim it could cause long-term metal health problems among people who use it regularly.

Although recreational use of cannabis or hemp is no longer illegal in Thailand, users can be fined up to 25,000 THB or jailed for up to three months for public nuisance offences connected to using it (576.82 GBP).
