An alert cop was quick to rescue a man who slipped while boarding a moving train in western India's Maharashtra.

The incident happened at the Wardha railway station of the eponymous district on platform number 2, June 18.

Visuals showed a passenger trying to get on the moving train but slipping in the process. Although he didn't fall into the gap between the train and the platform, he had hung on to the vehicle, which had him get dragged for a few metres.

In shock, he was seen reacting by throwing his legs and the RPF cop, who was present at the spot, was quick to rush in and offer his help.

Speaking to Newslions, Ashutosh Paandey, the Divisional Security Commissioner, RPF Nagpur said that constable Bhagwat Bajad saw a male passenger running from behind, trying to board the moving train number 12810 (Howrah - Mumbai CSMT Mail). Paandey added that the passenger was about to fall into the gap between the platform and the train and Bajad, without caring for his life, saved the man by holding his hand and dragging him.

Upon interrogation, the passenger said his name was Nitin Dhage, a 26-year-old who is from Kharangana. He expressed gratitude to the RPF for saving his life.
