This video shows the funeral and burial of one of the victims of the coal mine explosion that occurred yesterday (December 9) in Sawahlunto, West Sumatra, Indonesia. The blast was caused by a buildup of gases.

One of the victims, 26-year-old Afrili Effendi, was buried in the Talawi area, about four kilometers from the blast location.

A coal mining pit in the City of Sawahlunto, West Sumatra, exploded. The explosion killed 14 people. 10 of them died and 4 survived.

all victims were successfully evacuated by the local rescue team on Friday (9/12/2022) evening.

After the evacuation, the victims were handed over to their respective families for burial. One of the victims named Afrili Effendi (26 years) was buried in the Talawi area, about 4 kilometers from the pit that exploded.

The funeral took place Saturday (10/12/2022) afternoon. An atmosphere of grief enveloped the funeral of the victims of the mine explosion.

Head of Basarnas Padang Operational Section, Octavianto said:
“There are 14 victims found. 10 died, 4 survived. All the victims were found in a state of serious burns."

The police are still conducting an investigation to find out the causes of the explosion. A number of related parties have been investigated by the police.
