A man leaned into a sewer to rescue a toddler falling underneath in Huaihua, southern China’s Hunan province.

The CCTV footage showed the three-year-old boy walking backward and not noticing the sewer didn't have a manhole cover. When he got close to it, he lost his balance and fell down/

Passers-by quickly noticed that and gathered to rescue the boy. Mr. Mi decisively leaned into the well and pulled the child out, the whole process of which took about a minute.

The child's head was slightly injured and the medical fee has been covered by the insurance company of the property management office.

Three days later the property manager of the community responded that since there was a blockage in the sewer at that time, workers were cleaning the sewer so it was left not covered.

The video was filmed on December 18 and was provided by local media.
