A massive bluefin tuna chased off a six-foot-long bull shark after charging at its tail.

Shark handler David Crose was leading a diving tour off Jupiter, Florida, USA, on January 1 when a group of the predators came to feed on some chum.

Surprising footage shows an eight-foot-long bluefin shoot through the water behind a diver and beeline for one of the shark’s tail fin.

At the last minute the shark dodged and swam away to safety, before the tuna kept swimming around the divers as well as torpedoing towards David.

David, from Salty Divers, said: “You can hear me scream laughing after it charged the shark because I just found it so amazing and funny.

“The sharks we had were all about six-foot-long and this tuna was at least two-foot longer than them. I have no idea why the tuna charged the shark.

“I had never seen a tuna do anything like this before. It did then charge after the sharks a few more times throughout that dive.

“Just seeing the tuna for the first time was stunning, my whole group was just amazed at its size.

“It spent about half an hour with us and just swam around every diver and even ate some chum throughout the dive.”
