Dio Dwi Mahendra (14), a junior high school student in the Jati Agung subdistrict of South Lampung, suffered an injury to his right eye after being a victim of student-on-student violence.

The incident started when the victim and his senior schoolmate playfully hit each other with their ties, which escalated into a physical fight and eventually led to the victim being attacked by a group of students.

The victim, who suffered bruises around his eye as a result of the assault, had to be taken to the hospital for treatment.

The family plans to report the incident to the police and demand accountability from every student suspected to be involved in the violence.

"I want to report to the police as soon as I get the information, and I am trying to find ways to help my child recover," said Waris Purwanto (the victim's parent).

Meanwhile, the school has mediated between the two parties involved in hopes of resolving the issue peacefully.

The incident of student-on-student violence is regrettable and requires extra vigilance to monitor student activities both within and outside the school environment.
