These baby king cobras are cute but deadly - hissing and spitting powerful venom in the bottom of a bucket.

The creatures were hatched from eggs after they were rescued from a family's bathroom in Ang Thong province, Thailand.

Footage shows the tiny black serpents wriggling in the bottom of the container on March 27. They could be heard hissing and spitting their venom.

Animal rescue worker Ratha Tapianthong said: ‘A large cobra nested under a resident's bathroom. We dug it and found the eggs. They will be released after growing some more.'

A young cobra has enough venom to kill a human adult. However, it still takes them a few days to learn how to bite after hatching.

Snake wrangles said that younger cobras are actually more dangerous than older cobras, which have learned how to limit the amount of venom they release - or inflict 'dry bites' without any venom as a purely defensive strike.

In contrast, baby cobras release more venom which can prove fatal if not treated within an hour.
