A heroic passerby rescued a stranded dog in a river in southern China.

Video filmed in Leshan City in Sichuan Province on August 10 shows a man named Yuan seeking out a bamboo pole from a nearby field and combining it with a discarded woven rope in a bid to retrieve a stranded dog struggling against the river's current.

As he reached out with his makeshift tool, the dog immediately bit onto the rope. But as Yuan tried to pull the canine out, the rope snapped. Not one to give up, Yuan secured the rope by tying two knots, strengthening its hold. On his second attempt, the little dog once again clamped onto the rope and was successfully hauled to shore.

According to reports, Yuan was spending the afternoon by the riverside with a friend and noticed the stranded dog.

Following the rescue, the grateful dog circled Yuan once before darting off in the direction of the village.

8月10日上午，四川省乐山市夹江县千佛岩景区内，一只小狗掉进青衣江后狂吠求救，路过的袁先生见状，使用竹竿和废弃编织绳将它拉上岸。
袁先生介绍，当日下午，他和朋友到江边游玩，发现有只小狗掉进了江里，于是大家商量着想办法把它救上来。
他从周边的田地里找到一根竹竿和废弃的编织绳，想把小狗套上来，“结果它一下就咬住了绳子，但我一拉，绳子就断了。”第二次，他将编织绳绑了两个结，加固之后再丢下去，小狗又一次咬住后，成功被拉上岸。
袁先生称，小狗被救上来后，围着他转了一圈，随后往村庄方向跑去。
