Tree branch falls onto tuktuk in Bangkok
This is the heart-stopping moment a tree branch fell onto a tuktuk on a busy road in Thailand.
Cleaners were trimming the trees along Narathiwat Road in the capital city Bangkok when one of the branches fell onto the road and obstructed tuktuk driver's view.
The quick-thinking driver managed to step on the brakes and regain control of his vehicle following the accident on August 3.
Onlooker August said: 'No one was injured. The tuktuk lost control for a moment, but fortunately, there was no crash. After that, the driver sped away.'
Thailand has one of the world's worst road safety records. Ministers have set the goal of reducing fatalities from 32.7 deaths per 100,000 people to 12 per 100,000 people by the year 2027.
However, a lack of road safety education in schools along with notoriously easy driving tests, police failures to enforce road laws, and chronic under-investment in infrastructure, all appear to hamper the efforts.
