This is the dramatic moment police officers save the lives of two residents trapped in a fully engulfed house fire.

Body-worn footage shows the dramatic rescue that reportedly took place in Alagona, in the U.S. State of Washington on September 11.

While three occupants had managed to escape, two were still stranded upstairs when an Algona officer, assisted by a colleague from the Pacific Police Department, rushed to the scene.

Together, they alerted the trapped residents to the fire and successfully evacuated them from the burning home just before local firefighters arrived.

Algona Police Chief James Schrimpsher commended the swift and professional response of the officers, emphasizing the daily unpredictability of first responders' duties.

He also expressed gratitude to the Pacific Police Department and the Valley Regional Fire Authority for their collaborative efforts.

All residents were safely evacuated, although two were hospitalized due to fire-related injuries. The fire is believed to have originated from a food smoker.
