This happened in Uttarkashi district, on November 12.
Visuals shot on November 14 show the rescue officials having several conversations among themselves. The officials were seen arriving at the spot where this incident took place and discussed how to expedite the rescue process with several workers still trapped.
According to a report, Manikant Mishra, the commandant of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) assured the trapped workers through walkie-talkie that they would be saved. A compressor was also used to deliver essentials like biscuits, glucose and also ORS were given to those trapped. This shocking incident happened in the early hours of November 12 when a 150-metre portion of the massive tunnel which stretched to four and half kilometres, collapsed.
This tunnel is on the Silkyara and Dandalgaon on the Brahmakhal-Yamunotri national highway. After receiving information, Arpan Yaduvanshi, the Uttarkashi Superintendent of Police rushed to the spot and a rescue operation to save those trapped, began. Later on, officials of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) were also present along with the fire brigade.
