These images show Ukrainian air defences destroying Russian kamikaze drones in the south of the country.

The footage shows the Ukrainian air defence forces firing ordnance into the night sky and taking down Russian drones, which can be seen exploding in the air as they are hit.

The images were obtained from the Commander of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Nikolai Oleschuk, on Tuesday, December 5, along with a statement saying: 'Today, Air Command 'South' is on the offensive! 'They are destroying everything – both enemy aircraft and strike drones! 'Thanks to everyone involved for their work! 'In the video - destruction of strike UAVs in the southern part of the country!

'We continue the anti-aircraft battle against 'shaheds.'

The images were also relayed by the Office of Strategic Communications (StratCom) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine along with a statement saying: 'The Commander of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Mykola Oleschuk, published footage of the combat work of Air Command 'South'.
