This is the dramatic moment floods cascaded down the stairs as heavy rain hit Spain.

Footage shows fast-flowing floodwaters rushing down the steps, inundating the streets below in Valencia on September 29.

Roads were submerged, bicycles and plants were underwater, and a strong, muddy current surged through residential areas.

No injuries have been reported so far.

Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez urged residents to follow the advice of emergency services to prevent a repeat of last year's devastation.

In late October 2024, torrential rains struck Valencia, Spain. The resulting floods claimed 232 lives and left several people missing after intense downpours caused rivers to overflow, damaged infrastructure, and forced thousands to evacuate.

The freak weather was said to be caused by a phenomenon locally referred to as 'Depresion Aislada en Niveles Altos' or DANA - an air mass that is colder than its surroundings at higher levels.
