The IDF's Commando Brigade is intensifying its battle against Hamas forces in the western part of Khan Yunis, a stronghold of the organization. Hamas has strategically positioned military compounds, including sniper positions and observation posts, within densely populated urban areas.

As part of ongoing operations in the area, the Commando Brigade has engaged and neutralized numerous terrorist cells in intense close-quarter battles. Through these operations, the IDF is steadily strengthening its operational control over western Khan Yunis.

During the past week, the Maglan Unit encountered and effectively neutralized three armed terrorists armed with an AK-47 and an RPG. Following the engagement, a body camera was discovered in the possession of the terrorists, shedding light on their activities.

Notably, the Maglan Unit executed a successful raid on a Hamas military compound concealed within a mosque. As they explored the compound, soldiers discovered a tunnel shaft. Additionally, stockpiles of weapons and tactical radios were found near the mosque, exposing Hamas' hidden arsenal. Furthermore, a targeted raid on an explosives laboratory was carried out by the unit.

In a remarkable display of skill and prowess, IDF troops thwarted a terrorist who was preparing to fire an RPG at the Egoz Unit. The swift response resulted in the elimination of the imminent threat. Just moments later, five additional terrorists armed with RPGs were confronted and eliminated by the soldiers in a close-range encounter.

The operations conducted by the Commando Brigade in western Khan Yunis exemplify their unwavering commitment to combating Hamas forces. Despite the challenging urban environment, the IDF soldiers continue to demonstrate exceptional bravery and effectiveness in their mission.
