A large number of tourists became stranded at a mountain top at a scenic area in central China.

The video was filmed in Xinxiang City in Henan Province on May 2.

Many visitors demanded refunds, but with no alternative, they had to trek down the mountain for over ten kilometres.

For some elderly and physically weak tourists, unable to hike, they had to endure the night squeezed in the passageways, waiting endlessly.

Some tourists complained that due to the overwhelming number of visitors during the Labour Day holiday and the failure to implement crowd control measures promptly, coupled with the disruption caused by pedestrians on the road, the shuttle buses were unable to operate smoothly, resulting in the inability of people at the mountain top to descend until the early hours of the morning.

On the evening of May 2, Baoquan Tourist Area issued an apology letter, stating that the volume of tourists during the Labour Day holiday far exceeded expectations. The waiting time for shuttle buses was prolonged, and some visitors, unable to bear the wait, occupied the lanes reserved for shuttle buses, causing congestion in the transportation system and forcing some tourists to leave the park on foot.

The tourist area expressed sincere apologies to the affected visitors. As compensation, Baoquan Tourist Area announced that visitors who failed to board the shuttle bus and had to leave the park on foot on May 2 could enjoy a free return visit once on any day in 2024, upon presenting the ticket purchased on that day, and they could bring along a companion for free.

河南宝泉旅游区5月2日晚发布致歉信称，“五一”假期期间游客量激增，远超预期。转运车等候时间延长，部分游客因等待不及排队占用转运车道，导致转运系统出现堵塞，部分游客徒步出园。景区向受影响的游客致以诚挚歉意。作为补偿，宝泉旅游区宣布，2024年5月2日未乘坐上转运车、自行徒步出园的游客，可在2024年的任何一天凭借当日购票凭证免费重游宝泉一次，并可携一位同伴免费同游。
