Officials rescues driver from 90-meter deep ravine in northern India
A tempo traveller vehicle plunged into a ravine in northern India's Uttarakhand, prompting a swift rescue operation by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF).
The incident took place near Phata in Rudraprayag district on May 28.
Visuals showed how the SDRF team came for the man's quick rescue and carried him to the medical room on a stretcher.
Upon receiving the distress call from the Rudraprayag District Control Room, an SDRF rescue team led by Sub-Inspector Ashish Dimri quickly mobilized to the accident site equipped with essential rescue gear.
Upon arrival, the SDRF team descended 90 meters into the ravine using ropes to reach the crashed vehicle. They found the driver, 51-year-old Veer Singh from Delhi, injured but alive. The team carefully secured Singh onto a stretcher and transported him via an alternative route back to the main road. From there, he was swiftly taken to the hospital by ambulance.
The rapid response and efficient rescue operation by the SDRF team undoubtedly saved Singh's life, highlighting their critical role in emergency response situations in the region.
