Wall collapses just seconds after student walks past in India
A student narrowly escaped injury when a boundary wall collapsed during heavy rains in southern India's Kerala.
CCTV footage filmed at Kuttoth in Vatakara in Kozhikode on June 9 shows a wall suddenly collapsing just after a student named Rishal from Memunda Higher Secondary School walked past.
Debris and stones fell and scattered everywhere, with rubble tumbling down.
The incident occurred amidst the heavy downpour that has been affecting the region.
Rishal reportedly turned around after hearing a loud noise of the collapse, only to see the boundary wall crumbling to the ground.
Local residents have expressed concern over the structural integrity of older buildings and walls in the area, especially given the severity of the current monsoon season.
Authorities have been alerted, and an inspection of the remaining structures in the vicinity is expected to be conducted to prevent similar incidents.
