A housewife in Indonesia was killed by a 10 meter long python in Luwu, South Sulawesi.

A housewife was killed by a 10 meter long python.

The victim's name is Siriati (30 years old), the victim is a housewife from Balatana Hamlet, Siteba Village, North Walenrang subdistrict, Luwu Regency, South Sulawesi.

Siriati was killed by a python, on Tuesday 2 July 2024.

Based on the story of the Siteba Village Secretary, Iyang (38 years), the 10 meter long python preyed on Siriati at around 07.30 am local time.

At that time, the victim was on his way to his brother's house.

The plan was that Siriati would be accompanied by her brother to buy medicine for her child.

"The victim wanted to go out to buy his child medicine. He was waiting for his brother, the victim's house was far from the main road. He had to go through the forest first," said Iyang.

However, Siriati never arrived, so the victim's relatives felt something was strange.

On that basis, he then contacted Iriati's husband, Adiansya.

"After his brother waited for a long time, the victim didn't come. That's why his brother called the victim's husband, because his husband said that Siriati had been gone this morning," said Iyang.

Worried about his wife's condition, Adiansya decided to follow Siriati.

Then, on the way, Adiansya only found Siriati's sandals lying on the road. And seeing the appearance of the reptile's tracks, the victim's husband suspected that his wife had been eaten by a snake.

"So the husband went looking for his wife, he found her sandals on the road in the middle of the forest. He suspected that they had been eaten by a snake. Because there were snake tracks there. And the snake victim's husband had an enlarged stomach. This snake more or less dragged the victim 5 meters from the location. " said Iyang.

The python, which had escaped five meters into the bushes, had to be killed by Adiansya, the victim's husband.

After killing the snake, Adiansya then asked local residents to help him get his wife out of the snake's stomach. The residents worked together to help by cutting part of the snake's body one meter from the snake's head and pulling the snake's tail up a tree and slowly removing the victim's body.

Walenrang Police Chief, Adjunct Police Commissioner Idul, said that Siriati's body was found intact.

"The condition of the body is intact but perhaps the bones have been crushed. The condition of the body is already at the funeral home," he explained.

Idul added that there was a wound on the victim's leg which was suspected to be a snake bite.

"We think it was a snake bite. After being bitten, it immediately wrapped itself around the leg and finally paralyzed the victim," said Idul.

Now the body of the victim, Siriati, has been buried after being successfully evacuated from the snake's stomach. The victim was buried in Siteba Village, North Walenrang District, Luwu Regency, South Sulawesi, on 2 July 2024.
