A large python hiding behind machines at an ATM centre was extracted by rescuers in Thailand.

The 12ft-long serpent was spotted by customers doing transactions at one of the banking kiosks in Surat Thani province, Thailand on July 9.

Footage shows the snake being pulled out of the back of the machine as it tries to slither deeper and escape the men.

At least three volunteers helped drag it out before successfully carrying the reptile to the front of the building.

One of the rescuers said: ‘The Koh Samui Rescue Team managed to capture the python from inside the ATM.'

The snake was taken to the rescue facility and later released back into the wild.

The reticulated python is found throughout Southeast Asia, where it lives in forests, swamps, canals, and even cities, causing conflict with humans. The species is one of the world's largest snakes and can eat humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats, and other snakes.
