A plant pot blown by winds from Typhoon Gaemi fell perfectly square onto a father's head - narrowly avoiding hitting his skull.

Emman Noe Estrera, 41, was sitting on the patio of his home when the gust caused the object to detach from the ceiling in Cebu on July 23.

CCTV footage shows the hanging square wooden pot with a hole at the bottom plunging onto him and enclosing his head.

The shocked man removed the box from his head and looked above, wondering how it could have fallen.

His daughter Eunice said: ‘He was lucky because the box was heavy, but it fell flawlessly onto his head, so there was no impact.

‘He was not hurt, but he told me that if he moved the slightest, it could have struck his skull.'

Typhoon Gaemi killed 13 in the Philippines after lashing through mainland Luzon for almost a week, intensifying monsoon rains. It headed to Taiwan, killing three people and injuring more than 200 when it made landfall.
