This is the moment a small child falls onto a train track, and people work together to save them.

The incident happened as a high-speed train came to a halt, and the child accidentally fell into the space between the train and the platform in the city of Taiyuan, in Shanxi, China, on July 29.

The child began to cry loudly, drawing the attention of nearby passengers. Upon hearing the cries, passengers and station staff quickly turned their focus to the situation and knelt on the ground to rescue the child.

A man in a black T-shirt positioned himself on the platform and reached down into the gap to assist the child. His actions led to the rescue of the child, which took approximately 40 seconds.

Eyewitnesses reported that they first noticed the commotion due to the child's cries. When they approached, they realised the child had fallen into the gap.

Fortunately, staff ensured the train remained stopped at the station for over ten minutes, providing a critical window for the rescue to take place. The combined efforts of those present ensured the child's safety.
