Elderly man rescued from mud pit after becoming trapped while washing hands
On July 28, an elderly man in Bozhou, southern China, found himself trapped in a mud pit after accidentally stepping into it while washing his hands by the river. The thick mud quickly engulfed him up to his waist, and he continued to sink deeper, making it impossible for him to free himself.
Nearby residents noticed the man's predicament and attempted to help, but the challenging conditions and risks associated with the mud pit made it difficult for them to rescue him alone. They promptly called 119 to request assistance from the fire department.
In response, Bozhou's fire department dispatched rescue personnel to the scene. The rescuers arrived equipped with safety ropes and other gear to ensure their protection during the operation. After several minutes of determined effort, they successfully "pulled" the elderly man from the mud and carried him to a safe area.
Once the man was freed, rescue workers cleaned the mud from his body to ensure his well-being. On-site medical personnel conducted a preliminary check-up and confirmed that he had suffered no serious injuries.
