Water rescue team save driver trapped in car engulfed by river
A water rescue team saved a driver trapped in a car submerged in a river.
Dramatic footage shows the Swift Water Rescue team in Wood County, Texas, using their skills and courage to save the driver trapped in a car sinking in the Yellow River at North Wood County Park campground on August 1.
Reports indicate that the incident happened around 10 pm, just as the driver, who was an employee in the North Wood County Park, tried to secure entrance gates against the rising water.
At least nine members of the Richfield Fire Department and Wood County Sheriff's Rescue collaborated on the operation. Swift Water Rescue personnel used specialised equipment, including rope lines and a Rapid Deployment Craft, to access the submerged vehicle.
Shortly afterwards, rescuers successfully retrieved the employee using a personal flotation device and brought him to shore.
Emergency medical services promptly evaluated him, and he was fortunate to have escaped with no injuries requiring hospitalisation.
