Mount Lewotobi spews volcanic ash as high as 1000 meters in Indonesia
Mount Lewotobi in Indonesia erupted again, Saturday 14 September 2024.
The volcano on Flores Island, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) erupted producing quite high eruption columns, reaching 1,000 meters above the peak.
Until now, the Lewotobi Laki Volcano is reportedly still erupting. The ash column was observed to be gray with thick intensity towards the west. When this report was written, the eruption was still ongoing.
PVMBG appealed to the community around Mount Lewotobi Men and visitors and tourists not to carry out any activities within a 3 km radius of the eruption center of Mount Lewotobi Men and Mount Lewotobi Men.
Not only that, residents and visitors are advised to stay away 4 km in the North-Northeast sector and 5 km in the North-East sector from the eruption center of Mount Lewotobi Laki.
