Four soldiers were killed and 28 were injured when a bus crashed in India.

The vehicle carrying 36 Border Security Force troops veered off the road and plunged into a deep valley near the Brel area of Watarhaal in Budgam on September 20.

Footage shows residents, medical personnel, and rescue teams aiding the victims.

A senior BSF officer said: 'The BSF jawans were travelling in a private bus and were to be deployed for the second phase of polling in Budgam district.

'The driver of the bus lost control at Waterhail village and the bus fell into a gorge in which three jawans lost their lives.'

Another incident occurred prior to this when soldier Baljeet Singh died in an army vehicle accident in Rajouri, while four of his colleagues sustained injuries and received treatment in a nearby hospital.

The Indian Army's GOC White Knight Corps expressed their condolences to the victims.

The GOC White KnightCorps said: 'GOC WhiteKnightCorps and all ranks expressed condolences to the family of L/Nk Baljeet Sing, the braveheart who lost his life in a tragic road accident near Manjakote, Rajouri, during counter-insurgency duty. We pray for the recovery of the injured.'
