Typhoon picks up plane and dumps it in fishpond after destroying hanger
This is the shocking moment a typhoon picks up a plane and dumps it into a nearby fishpond after destroying a hangar in China.
The privately owned light aircraft was parked at an airport in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, on September 16 when Typhoon Bebinca struck the region.
The plane's owner and two others reported that all three had suffered significant damage from the typhoon and had been written off, resulting in a loss of around 480,000 GBP.
He said that the typhoon first blew off the hangar's roof, and then it took the plane away along with the others.
The man had insurance and said he would build a better hangar and buy three new planes once he received the payout.
A former soldier owned the aircrafts and used them to instruct and train residents aspiring to obtain their pilot's licence.
