This is the miraculous moment a water tank falls from a roof onto a woman below - landing perfectly on top of her and avoiding injury.

Footage shows the woman closing a small gate and crossing a narrow lane while eating fruit in a residential area when the tank suddenly came hurtling towards her from above.

CCTV shows how her head even poked out from a hole at the top of the plastic drum.

Locals said the bizarre incident happened at Mansi Residency in Dindoli, Surat, India, after the Navratri morning prayers on October 5. The woman was returning home after offering donations, or prasadam, to the local deities.

Neighbours rushed outside after hearing a loud bang and were shocked to find the woman standing inside the upright container.

Miraculously, it had landed perfectly on top of her, with the sides missing her body. She was unscathed following the near miss.

Security guard S.M. Mishra said the tank, which had been discarded by a scrap collector clearing out old items from the terrace, was accidentally dropped.

Despite the heavy crash of the huge container hitting the ground, she emerged unhurt. Residents now believe that divine intervention had prevented her from being hurt as she was returning home from doing a good deed at the local Hindu temple.
