A grandmother called snake catchers to remove a massive cat-eating python from her house in Thailand.

The terrified pensioner found the 16ft reptile with its stomach bulging after devouring her pet feline in Nakhon Pathom province on October 30 evening.

She called the specialists for help, and they arrived with catch poles to ensnare the beast.

As the python was still full from its last meal, the team easily caught and bagged it inside a sack.

The grandmother said: 'This is the second time a python has entered my home. My house is located near a canal, which likely where they came from. This one is slightly smaller than the previous one. It must have sought shelter here before it attacked my cat.'

The python was released into a forest away from the neighbourhood.

The reticulated python is found throughout Southeast Asia, where they live in forests, swamps, canals and even in cities, causing them to come into conflict with humans. The species is one of the world's largest snakes and can eat humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats and other snakes.
