Police shunted a cyclist into a bush to arrest him in Florida.

Deputy Christopher Murphy struck Michael McDermott, 38, with a patrol car as the man allegedly fled on a bicycle in Palm Coast.

Dashcam footage shows the officer asking Michael to stop. However, he continued pedalling on the road, prompting the officers to chase him.

The police then hit him with the vehicle, causing him to be thrown into a bush. They allegedly found a 9mm Ruger firearm on the suspect and arrested him on the spot.

Police said the defendant faces multiple charges, including assaulting an officer and possession of a firearm by a felon.
