Car speeds along highway with huge PYTHON slithering across roof
A car sped along a highway with a huge python slithering across its roof.
The silver Perodua Axia had the 12ft (2m) reptile hitching a ride when it was spotted by another driver on the MRR2 highway in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on January 4.
Footage shows the killed reptile moving onto the front windshield of the car. It then slinked to the bonnet while exploring the exterior and even stretching its head to the side.
Onlooker Alif Aizuddin, who was in a car behind, said: 'I was on my way to my restaurant Tropika Dining in Putrajaya when I saw the snake. I was so shocked.'
Alif said that he tried to stop the driver and told him about it but he kept moving.
He said: 'He also did not know what to do. He just kept on driving.'
When the car reached a forested area, the python was seen slithering to the side like it was desperately trying to reach the trees.
However, the driver could not find a safe area to stop and continued along the road.
They reached the highway exit, but the snake was still on the roof of the car.
It later fled when they reached Putrajaya City, and the large snake was reported to authorities.
Alif added: 'I would not want to be the driver while the snake was on the outside. I assume he tried to stay calm and kept driving to try and make it fall off.'
The reticulated python is found throughout Southeast Asia, where they live in forests, swamps, canals and even in cities, causing them to come into conflict with humans. The species is one of the world's largest snakes and can eat humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats and other snakes.
