An open drain near Supertech Ecovillage-1 in Greater Noida West turned into a dangerous trap on Monday, when a bull accidentally fell into it. The incident raised serious concerns about public safety and urban infrastructure.
Local residents immediately alerted the police and the Greater Noida Authority. A rescue team arrived at the scene and, after several hours of effort, managed to safely pull the bull out using a crane. Fortunately, the animal did not suffer any major injuries.
Residents said that open drains in the area have become a constant threat. Similar incidents have occurred in the past, with several animals falling into uncovered drains. These drains are not only life-threatening for voiceless animals but also pose a serious risk to public safety.
Locals fear that children and the elderly are especially vulnerable, and that these drains could easily lead to major accidents. There have even been past incidents where intoxicated individuals fell into these deep drains, resulting in injuries.
Despite multiple complaints in the past, no permanent solution has been implemented. Residents are now urging the administration and the Greater Noida Authority to urgently cover the open drains to prevent future mishaps.
