This is the shocking moment a police officer is struck by a suspect's getaway car while trying to deploy a stinger strip.

Mooresville Police Officer Chase Pitcock was setting up the stop sticks at State Road 67 and Sunset Lane, near Brooklyn, Indiana, when the suspect's vehicle hit him.

The incident began when Mooresville police were assisting Monroe County Sheriff's deputies in a pursuit involving a black Dodge Charger.

Bodycam footage shows Chase standing near the intersection as he prepares to deploy the stop sticks. The Charger suddenly appears, speeding northbound on SR 67.

The suspect swerves right, dodging a police SUV and heading straight towards him.

Chase tries to dodge but is hit and falls to the ground. The Charger speeds off down Sunset Lane.

Despite the impact, the officer quickly gets back on his feet and returns to the SUV. He was heard on camera saying, 'They got my ankle'.

He was treated at Methodist Hospital on Sunday, April 27, for minor injuries. He suffered a broken thumb and sprains.

The initial pursuit reportedly ended in Camby due to safety concerns, but deputies later spotted the Charger and resumed the operation.

Mooresville Police Chief Kerry Buckner said on Tuesday that the suspect was still on the run.
