Curious toddler gets head stuck in pot, rescue team’s careful effort wins applause
A 2-year-old child had to be rescued after getting their head stuck in an aluminium pot while playing.
The incident occurred in Chalode Vaduvankulam, Kannur district, Kerala, southern India, on May 7.
Visuals from the scene depict the rescue team meticulously cutting the pot with specialised equipment, ensuring the baby remains unharmed during the process. Meanwhile, another officer gently holds the child in his lap, keeping the baby calm and comfortable. Once the child's head is freed from the pot, the team erupts in cheers as they pass the child into the arms of the relieved mother.
Speaking to Newslions Media Network, Shijin Mk, Fire and Rescue Officer, Mattannur Fire Station, Kannur, Kerala, said that the incident occurred in Mattannur, where Fire and Rescue personnel responded swiftly to the unusual emergency. The rescue team carefully cut open the pot without harming the child, ensuring a safe extraction.
The operation was led by Station Officer Rajeevan and included Fire and Rescue Officer Shijin M.K., along with team members Naved P., Rigith, Srinath, Surendra Babu, Dilip, Asto Purushothaman, Shabirali, Brino, and Sunil Kumar Poochali. Due to their coordinated efforts, the child was safely freed without any injuries.
