EATONVILLE, Wash. — Hudson the beaver proved he knows what he wants—and where—by adjusting his food bowl placement before settling in for a snack at Northwest Trek Wildlife Park.

In a video shared by the park, Hudson can be seen repositioning the bowl before enjoying his treats. Staff described the behavior as a sign of the beaver’s natural instinct to manipulate his environment.

Since 1975, Northwest Trek Wildlife Park has offered opportunities to observe native Northwest species while promoting conservation and sustainable habitat practices. The park is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums for its commitment to animal care and environmental stewardship.

Hudson’s moment of refinement highlights the intelligence and personality of one of the region’s most iconic animals.
