Driver Crashes Through Festival Barriers, Caught on Camera in Laurel, Maryland
LAUREL, Md. — A dramatic scene unfolded at the Main Street Festival in Laurel when a driver crashed through barriers and drove into a crowded area, prompting a swift and heroic response from police.
The driver, identified as Kai Deberry-Bostick, 28, of Laurel, Maryland, was quickly stopped by officers before any festival-goers were injured. One officer sustained minor injuries after being struck by the vehicle during the intervention.
The incident was caught on camera and shared widely, showing just how quickly the situation could have escalated if not for the immediate action of law enforcement.
Deberry-Bostick has been criminally charged, and the investigation is ongoing.
“A huge thank you to our dedicated officers for keeping our community safe,” the Laurel Police Department wrote in a statement following the incident.
