Suspect Rams Patrol Cars Before Deputies End Violent Pursuit
CLARK COUNTY, Wash. — A vehicle theft suspect rammed two patrol cars during a dangerous pursuit Monday night before Clark County Sheriff’s Office deputies used a Grappler device to bring the incident to a safe end.
Deputies were investigating a residential burglary and stolen vehicle report around 8 p.m. in northeast Vancouver when the suspect fled in a vehicle containing a firearm. The stolen car was later found at a Starbucks in Battle Ground, where officers believed the suspect was still inside.
With the risk of flight high, additional units and a Grappler-equipped vehicle responded. When officers attempted to stop the suspect, she accelerated out of the parking lot and led deputies on a pursuit. Stop sticks were deployed, but even with damaged tires, the vehicle continued until deputies used the Grappler to immobilize it near Northeast 72nd Avenue and State Route 502.
The suspect rammed two patrol vehicles—severely damaging one—before deputies pinned the car and took her into custody. No deputies were injured.
The driver, identified as 40-year-old Danielle Crosby, was arrested on multiple felony charges including residential burglary, motor vehicle theft, firearm theft, unlawful possession of a firearm, assault, and attempting to elude. She was booked into the Clark County Jail.
Authorities credited strong coordination between the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Battle Ground Police and Cowlitz Tribal Police for safely ending the incident.
